Sewing thread is the thread required for knitted clothing products. According to the raw materials, sewing thread can be divided into three categories: natural fiber, synthetic fiber sewing thread and mixed sewing thread. With the development of the polyester industry, more and more sewing threads use pure polyester fibers as their raw materials.
The single yarn count of sewing thread generally ranges from 9 to 80 pounds, and the number of joints is mostly 3 shares, and there are also 2 shares, 4 shares and more than 6 shares, up to 12 shares. Sewing threads with more than 6 strands are generally used in the leather, sail and shoe industries.
There are many rolls of sewing thread, and in the era of hand sewing, it is mainly twisted cotton thread and silk thread. With the use of sewing machines, wooden yarn clusters appeared, that is, waxed cotton threads were wound on wooden cores, and then there were paper core (or plastic core) threads, cardboard threads, thread balls, pagoda threads, etc. The capacity of various packages varies according to civil and industrial use.
